Hello
My name is Rena Sultan

I started Lynchpin Consulting to help busy leaders move important work forward. Sometimes that means supporting a specific initiative. Other times, it means providing ongoing senior-level expertise through fractional executive services.
Either way, my role is to help take work off your plate, bring clarity to complexity, and make progress feel manageable.
My Approach
What Makes My Approach Different
Here's what I've learned over 25+ years: the challenges that keep leaders up at night rarely fit into neat categories.

You're facing an organizational transformation where the real challenge is getting multiple moving pieces to work together. Or a strategic priority that needs both planning discipline and change leadership. Or a process improvement initiative that's technically sound but isn't gaining traction.

That's where integration becomes your advantage.

How I Work: Seeing the Whole System

Most consultants specialize in one area. I integrate across them.

I'm a UBC Certified Organizational Coach, Prosci® Certified Change Practitioner, Project Management Professional, and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. But I don't just bring multiple tools. I understand how they work together in practice.

This matters because sustainable change happens at the intersection of process, people, and performance. Strategic initiatives without execution support stall. Leadership development disconnected from operational realities doesn't stick. A brilliant technical solution fails without change management.

I see the whole system (the technical work, the human dynamics, and the organizational context) and help you navigate all three simultaneously. I identify the right leverage points to make change practical, effective, and sustainable.

When specialized expertise beyond my scope is needed, I draw on a trusted network of professionals while remaining your single point of accountability. You get the benefit of coordinated expertise without the burden of managing multiple relationships.

When This Approach Works Best

Leaders typically reach out when they need support with:

-
Strategic initiatives that require both planning rigor and change leadership
-
Operational improvements where adoption and engagement are as critical as the technical solution
-
Organizational transformations involving process redesign, cultural shifts, and leadership alignment
-
Team development or leadership coaching that must connect to business outcomes
-
Complex challenges where the real value is having one trusted advisor who can integrate across domains rather than coordinating multiple specialists
What Clients Value

Much of my work comes from repeat engagements and referrals. I care deeply about building strong, long-term relationships with the leaders and organizations I serve.
Clients tell me they value my ability to:

-
Quickly understand complex environments and see connections others miss
-
Work comfortably across roles and levels, translating between technical and human concerns
-
Bring both analytical rigor and coaching presence to challenging situations
-
Serve as a trusted thinking partner who understands their operational realities

My Background: Where Integration Began

My ability to integrate comes from walking in multiple worlds.

I started at KPMG in Singapore and London, qualifying as a CPA and working in audit and consulting. This taught me to see organizations as interconnected systems. I then spent several years in investment banking with Deutsche Bank and UBS in London, transforming manual, fragmented processes into efficient, scalable operations. This work taught me that brilliant technical solutions fail without attention to how people actually work.

In 2008, I moved to Vancouver and spent 15 years in senior leadership roles at the City of Burnaby. This public sector experience added crucial dimensions: navigating political complexity, building stakeholder alignment, delivering results within constraints, and leading change in environments where relationships and trust matter as much as technical expertise.

This blend of private sector precision with public sector complexity is what allows me to work effectively where operational improvement, governance, and people dynamics intersect, which is exactly where most important organizational work happens.

Why This Matters to You

When you're already stretched thin, the last thing you need is to coordinate multiple consultants, each speaking a different language and seeing only part of the picture.

You need someone who can hold the complexity, see how the pieces connect, help you move forward on multiple fronts, and take real work off your plate while doing it.

That's what I'm here to do. Ready to move your initiatives forward? Let's have a conversation about what you're facing and how I can help.
